| Natalie French She-Mantis (Kleptes-Virgo or virgin thief) Musetta Vander Sexy, wears short tight skirts & (very!) low-cut black dress when she seduces Xander Substitute biology teacher, arrives after Dr Gregory disappears (he�s attacked at the end of the teaser section. Giles� research reveals her to be a �Kleptes-Virgo� who, in her true form, needs to find young male virgins to breed with. As with ordinary praying mantis she�d then bite their heads off!! Giles speaks to an old friend of his in Enlgand, Dr Carlyle, who had studied the She-Mantis, & subsequently been commited to an insane asylum. He advises on the best way to kill her. Buffy uses insect spray to distract her while Giles & Willow rescue Xander & Blayne. Giles uses a tape of bat sonar (?) to disorietate the She-Mantis, & then Buffy slices & dices her with a machete. The episode ends with a shot of an egg-sac moving in the biology classroom cupboard. Claw "fork-guy" - a vampire. Formally a member of the Order of Aurelius, he displeased the Master & cut off his own hand in penance. He now lives in the sewers. It is his reaction to Natalie French that makes Buffy suspicious of her. Actor - Jean Speegle Howard. |
