ATHENS: Mars Hill / Acropolis / Agora
The city of Athens is one steeped in culture and history.  It is a city of 5 million people built around ruins from thousands of years ago.  The Acropolis, featuring the ruins of ancient temples built on a solid slab of rock that towers above the city,  is its greatest feature and lies at the heart of Athens.  It is also of great interest to us as Christians, since Paul traveled there and preached as is mentioned in Acts 17.  His disappointment and withdrawal from Mars Hill are recorded as he dealt with a people who worshipped many gods, but would not accept the truth.
