Plus there are several childrens books teaching
about Daniel , published by Arch Books (from Concordia
Publishing) has every type of Bible story you could want!)
Children are intrigued by the thought of a man overcoming a Lion in this story. They can enjoy it on that level, but help them to also understand that God sent His Holy Angels to protect Daniel and He does the same for us in all situations too. Discuss times when God's angels have obviously been on duty-close call in the car, an accident while playing, a time when someone has been ill.
Point out tht Daniel prayed boldly to God, even when the king stated that he should not. Talk about the ways you put God first, prayers before meals, reading the bible... Tell the kids to ask God for help not only in difficult situations, but in every situation.
Make a card
Have kids draw Daniel and the lion. Have them tell you about what they
liked most baout the story. Make it in to a card for a relative/friend
who needs to know that, God will always be with them.
