Nakago

BACK

Okay, so I have more to say about Fushigi Yuggi than I thought I did.  I most specifically have lots to say about Nakago.  In my opinion, he is the strongest and most well developed character in the show.  Not to say that there weren't other well developed characters. I just think that he was the best.  Actually, I found that the 'bad' guys (I put the word bad in quotations because lots of them weren't even really bad) were developed more than the good guys.  I mean, The strongest quality of both Tamahome and Miaka were their love for each other.  If they didn't have eachother, then they were nothing.  I'd say Nuriko was the best developed of all of the good guys.  They do all the developing, of course, in the few episodes before they killed her *sob*...I must admitt, I cried like a baby...all three times that I watched that episode.  hee hee.  Oh, by the way, there's gonna be lots of spoilers on this page...I know, I know the warning's a bit late.
Where was I? Ah yes, Nakago is, by far the most well developed character in the series.  And my favorite.  I know it's evil of me to love the bad guy, but I can't help it.  I just do.  He's just so perfect. I'm not saying that I'm upset about the fact that he died in the end.  He totally deserved it. He killed Hotohori-sama.  He deserved a slow and painful death for that.  Which isn't what he got, but it was close enough.

I love this picture ^.^!
This is my favorite scene in the whole show, when Nakago kisses and licks Tamahome, then pushes him down the stairs. Yay Nakago!

Hee hee. don't you just LOVE the expresion on Tama's face??

And another thing that I really love about this guy is how tragic his life was as a child.  He accidently killed his mother while trying to stop dirty men from raping her as the emperor of kotou (I forget how to spell it) was comitting a mass genocide on his race.  Then, Nakago is forced to become the emperor's sex slave.  And he's only about ten at the time! *sob* How can you not love a guy who's survived all this tragedy.  But, that's not all he has to live through.  He tells the woman that he loves that he doesn't love her and never could only hours before she dies.  Then, he realizes that he does love her, and is so broken up about it, that he can't seem to let go of her body.  (He carries her dead body around for the rest of the episode, and I think the next one, but I don't remember exactly how long it was for.).  Okay, I'll admitt that he brought that upon himself, but it was still tragic.  Then, in the end, he practically commits suiside.  It's not like he actually tried to kill himself, but you could so tell that he wanted to die in the last two episodes.  And he didn't even try to dodge Tamahome's punch.  Then when Nakago dies, and Tama sees his past, he tells Tama not to pity him.  I almost cried when he died.  Mind you I was on the verge of tears for the last five episodes.  And yes, I am a cry baby when it comes to movies.  I don't care.  I found the whole ending part sad.

I watched from about episode twenty to fifty two in two days.  My brain was completley fried by the end of the series! I stayed home 'sick' from school to see them. Hee hee. Well, I was sick, but I guess I could have gone if I really really wanted to...which I didn't.  It was either Fushigi Yuggi or Stone Angel...what a choice!  Speaking of terrible books, I HIGHLY reccomend that you never ever read Stone Angel.  It was the most horrid book I have ever read in my whole life.  It's just about a ninety two year old bitch, and it's her rambing on about her pathetic life for hundreds of pages.  I'm really not looking foward to taking OA english agin...

Here are some pictures of Nakago that I've stolen *sorry* from God only knows where:
