| NAME: Chrissy BIRTHDAY: November 26 WHERE I WAS BORN: In Yellowknife, NWT WHERE I LIVE NOW: Ontario OTHER PLACES I'VE LIVED: (I'm stuck on the subject, now that I've brought it up :p) Whitehorse, Edmonton, and St John's. hmmmmm...... EDUCATION: I am in my third year of university this year. I"m getting an honours degree in English with a minor in the classics. My courses this year are: Ancient Greek Civilizations, Philosophy of Plato and Aristotle, Caucer's Canteburry Tales, British Literature 2, Shakespeare, and Jewish studies (though Jewish studies is a second semester course and I'm thinking about changing it to Philosophy of Socrates and the presocratics). FUTURE EDUCATION: As of right now, my plan is to get a masters degree in the classics in Queens after I graduate. I don't know if I will have a prerequisite for the program so I may take a fifth year of my undergrad, going part time (it will have the bonus of letting me save money for moving away). This would work out nicely anyways, because I think I'm short one course above first year (that's a long story in itself...I hate professor Beer) FUTURE WORK: After I graduate, I would like to get a job at a publishing house as an editor...you know, reading manuscripts that people send in and editing the ones that are good enough to go to book. BOOKS: This is a small list of my favorite books The Wheel of Time series The Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles The Prydain series...(most people haven't heard of these...they're ABOSLUTELY AMAZING...they're juvinile fantacy novels written by Lloyd Alexander, and Disney did a cartoon based on the second book in the series. Although...Disney was true to form and murdered the story *glares at Disney animators and writers*) I don't really have any time to read 'fun' novels anymore because I should be reading like four novels a week...yeah, I don't think so... MUSIC: A small list of my favorite bands J. Englishman, Our Lady Peace, Econoline Crush and Edwin and the Pressure A small list of my favorite songs Don't mean a thing - J. Englishman (see lyrics here) Something I can Never Have - Nine Inch Nails (I'm not the hugest NIN fan...but this song is SO amazing!!!!) Pure - J. Englishman (see lyrics here) Clumsy - Our Lady Peace (see a picture I drew dedicated to the song here) Amazing - Edwin (it's one of those songs that you just feel amazing listening to) Nebraska - Chrissie Hynes (this is a really beautiful song, but the lyrics are twisted...I heard the song five or six times before I actually sat and listened to the lyrics and it was just like 'oh...as if that's what she's singing about....') May I Go - Econoline Crush (I find it a kind of sad song, but I really love it) Picture - Filter (This is one of the few songs in the world that I can actually sing in tune) Innocent - Our Lady Peace (I like how they sing about happy stuff now instead of sad stuff...I love their sad stuff but I like how they've changed) Super Honey - Edwin and the Pressure (his is just a really cool song...and the video for it is equally cool...it's not often that you can say that) Yellow - Coldplay (I find the song itself kind 'meh' but the lyrics are just so beautiful it's hard not to love the song) Hey Mister - Custom (I just love this song because it's so outrageous..and I do find the video sexy in a weird kinda way...) HOBBIES: no time :(. I watch TV when I'm not with freinds, at work or doing school stuff. |
