This little guy is known as Moniker Pis. It is a statue in Brussels, and yes, he is peeing. He is there to commemorate Belgium's resistance during World War II. The story is that when the German soldiers were marching into Brussels a little boy stood on a wall and pee'd on them to show how the town felt about the invasion. Our tour guide (who is Dutch) claimed that this is what passes for culture in Belgium. I think it's the same kind of good natured ribbing that goes on between New York and New Jersey or Georgia and Alabama. |
