Ok, this is the first post on the Whats New? page. For those of you wondering what this page is for, we thought it would be a good idea to make a page telling what to expect from the newest games coming out, and to review games that are already out but fairly new. With that said, let's look at what's new.....
At the moment there's not really many new games coming out, with the recent release of Kingdom Hearts to keep gamers busy. We have had our eyes on a few games though.....
The game we've mainly been reading up on is Final Fantasy XI, since soon it should be about time for its release. This game is going to be much different from the traditional Final Fantasy game style, though definately not in a bad way. This game will be online, and be for PlayStation2 and PC. There's not many details out on the game yet, but here are a few....
1) It's not definate that the game will keep the title Final Fantasy XI yet, because of the different style of gameplay that the other games in the series dont have. From what we've seen, the gameplay in FFXI is very similar to Baldur's Gate type games.
2) This game is definately going to be an on-line exclusive... finally a good RPG for you online gamers. We're not totally sure why the people at Square decided to do this, but we think it may have something to do with the growing popularity of mass multiplayer online RPGs such as EverQuest.
Another game we've been watching is Final Fantasy X-2. This game is the first true sequel to a Final Fantasy game. There are'nt many details out there about this new addition to the FF family of games yet, but from screenshots we've seen, there's no Tidus in this one. That kind of disappoints me, but we don't doubt Square's ability to create a great game with a captive story line. Square has officially announced the release date to be March 13 2003 in Japan (or at least that is the word on the street... we think... well... don't quote us on that). No official release date has been announced for the US version. We also forgot to mention that Yuna is FREAKING HOT and uses her guns like a pro... man thats so cool!
