April 14, 1969 NBC - This made for TV special would be the last time all four monkees would appear on television together for almost 30 years. It only aired once on TV. The plot is about a man made pop band destined for stardom (hmm....sounds familiar). Features guest appearances from: Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Fats Domino as well as stars that were better known at the time. Songs featured: an R&B version of I'm A Believer (w/ Julie Driscoll), Prithee, Naked Persimmon (The Only Thing I Believe Is True), Goldilocks Sometime, Wind Up Man, Darwin, Only The Fittest Shall Survive (Paul Arnold & The Moon Express), I Go Ape, Come On Up (The Trinity), At The Hop, I'm Ready (Fats Domino), Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On (Jerry Lee Lewis), Tutti Fruitti (Little Richard), Shake A Tailfeather, Blue Monday (Fats Domino), Little Darlin', Down The Line (Jerry Lee Lewis), Dry Bones (The Clair Ward Singers), String For My Kite, Solfeggietto (Tork on harpsicord), Listen To The Band (entire cast), California Here It Comes (closing credits).
