| I have been the NHW co-ordinator of my local street for almost 6 months now and am thoroughly enjoying it. It is proving to be a real challenge to get people in the street to come to the meetings, however I am persevering. I have discovered that NHW isnt just about fighting local crime and anti social behaviour. Its also about reporting issues to the council such as street litter, noise nuisance, abandoned veichles etc. I put this page on the web for those who are co-ordinators in the UK like me so they could look at my newsletters and maybe use a thing or two off them? Feel free to browse and pinch anything you like. I produce the newsletters every 2 months and get the information for them from the crime prevention officer. I make it look pretty by adding a few graphics etc and deliver it to every house in the streets I cover (approx 260 houses) A lot of people just give the information to those who are interested, but I feel that by delivering it to all the houses means it lets other people know that we are watching them and we are an active group. I really feel that NHW makes a difference and will continue to do this work, its very rewarding. |
