Doug went to Hong Kong, China for a Baptist Youth Conference with 13 youth and adults and then they traveled to a village in Thailand to help with the construction of a water system for the village.

The Ketchum family from Portland, Oregon came down to Los Angeles for vacation and we were so happy they could stop by our place for a visit!


Matthew competed in his own track and field olympics this month. The first night he came home with 2 medals!


The second night Matthew came home with 3 more medals. It was a very fun track meet! = - )
Our family will be going to Mexico for a missions trip during the last week in August. This will be the second mission trip for the 3 oldest and Matthew's first.
 
Here we are, Team Evergreen, ready to drive to Mexico and join team members from other L.A. churches.
 
We had 2 work sites: at this site the crew hauled 2 tons of cement up the stairs with buckets to pour the roof which will eventually be a 2nd floor. They also painted rooms in the new family shelter.
 
The VBS was held at a park and it was a huge success. The kids kept coming back and bringing new friends every day - by the end of the week we had 150 kids!
  

Our family met Angelica's birth grandmother and 3 uncles for the first time - they live in Mexico. The meeting was special and thankfully we had Betty to help translate! We also visited the famous blow hole, La Bufadora.
