Our kids begged me to make an "animal highlight" page from our 2002 family vacation - so here it is! We saw so many beautiful animals and had many great interactions with cute critters that it was difficult to pick which picture to share. Here they are:
Yellowstone National Park
Theodore Roosevelt National Park
Rapid City, South Dakota - a major highlight of the trip was feeding the "begging burros of Custer State Park" - they were very friendly and very hungry. We also met this mountain goat along the road near Mt. Rushmore.
At the Laura Ingalls Wilder homestead we met up with a litter of kittens in the barn loft and spent lots of time cuddling and missing Tigger and Toby. The wagon horses were named after the Ingalls horses.
This cat lived in Walnut Grove and escorted us on our tour of the sod house and Plum Creek and we met this squirrel during a hike in Zion National Park.
