Hubbard 4, Salem 4

 

Hubbard, Oh—Hubbard executed their best offensive performance of the entire year.  The Eagles created more high percentage scoring opportunities tonight than they did in any other game this year.  This was a very entertaining and excited game Hubbard played and it wasn’t sporadic, it was for the entire 80 minutes.

 

Tim Kemner put Hubbard up 1-0 off an assist by Conor Mogg.  Conor’s pass split two Salem’s defenders in connected with Tim Kemner and from that point it was a foot race with the ball that Kemner wasn’t losing.  Tim kept his composure and beat Salem’s keeper for the 1-0 lead.

 

Hubbard goes up 2-0 when Conor Mogg got taking down in the penalty box.  Conor did a nice job converted the penalty kick for the 2-0 lead.  Salem cuts into Hubbard’s  lead off a long throw in that a Salem player heading in for the goal and the 2-1 halftime score.

 

Tim Kemner hooked up with Conor Mogg early in the second half to give Hubbard a 3-1 lead.  About midway through the half Salem scores on a 35 yard shot that caught Hubbard’s keeper off his line to cut the score to 3-2 Hubbard.  Five minutes later Hubbard’s Tim Kemner scored on a beautiful 40 yard shot that caught the Salem keeper off his line for the 4-2 lead.

 

Salem comes back and scores off a corner kick and cut the lead to 4-3 Hubbard.  Then with 3:45 seconds Salem scores off their second throw in and ties the game at 4-4.  With 15 seconds left in the game Hubbard’s Conor Mogg came open about 12 yards from the Keeper and ripped a low left footed shot on the ground that the keeper made a diving save to his left to hang on for the tie.

 

Tim Kemner and Conor Mogg were cited for their outstanding play tonight.  Between both of them they created 15 shots at goal.

 

This was Hubbard’s senior night and Hubbard had four seniors that were recognized.  Our four seniors and four great young men are John Vadala, Greg Orr, Gabe Hitchcock and Eric Gallo.  Thanks for all the memories and the hard work you’ve invested in the Hubbard program.
