Hubbard 0, West Branch 5

 

Hubbard, OH—West Branch downs Hubbard in non-league play Thursday Night.  Just 12 minutes into the game Hubbard’s Conor Mogg broke free off the left side and had a very good look at goal with the keeper out of the net, Conor’s shot went just over the goal.

 

West Branch scored their first goal on a corner kick that was accidentally directed into the goal by a Hubbard defender to take a 1-0 lead.  West Branch scored two more goals in the first half to take a 3-0 lead into half time.

 

In the second half West Branch picked up two more goals, one of the goals came off a Hubbard defender.  Hubbard competed very well tonight against one of the best teams in the area. West Branch most likely will be seeded in the top four in the District Tournament.  The Eagles defense did a nice job in slowing down the attack from West Branch.

 

Hubbard’s Eddie Zitnik and Greg Orr were cited for their outstanding play tonight.  Both of them played their best games of the year. 

 

Hubbard will travel to Beaver Local on Tuesday, September 30 for a league game.
