Hubbard 0, Canfield 3

Hubbard, OH—Hubbard played one of their best games tonight against Canfield.  Canfield got their first goal off an own goal from Hubbard just two minutes into the game to go up 1-0.  Then, minutes later Canfield goes up 2-0 off their only legitimate goal of the night on the Eagle defense.

Being down 2-0 Hubbard had a few nice runs at goal with the best scoring chance coming from Nick Pedaline.  Nick broke through the Canfield defense and caught the Canfield Keeper way off his line.  Nick’s shot went wide right of the goal.

Canfield picked up the third goal on what looked to be a missed offside call to put Canfield up 3-0 at the half.

The Eagles played Canfield 0-0 in the second half for a very strong 40 minutes of soccer the Eagles. They played with a lot of intensity.  They did a very good job in keeping Canfield off balance with their traps and did an excellent job in consolidating the space that Canfield had to work in.

All the players played a very good game tonight.  They all worked very hard for the entire 80 minutes and have nothing to hang their heads about.  Hubbard’s Keeper Steve Roose had an excellent game for the Eagles in the net.  Steve had 14 saves for the Eagles.

Hubbard travels to Salem on Tuesday, Sept. 16
