Hubbard 2, Kennedy Catholic 3

Hubbard, OH- Hubbard loses a hard fought game against Kennedy on youth night.  Hubbard struck first as Nick Pedaline netted his first career goal off an assist by Gabe Hitchcock to put Hubbard up 1-0.  Congratulation Nick!!!  Then at the 30:00 mark of the first half Kennedy was called for a handball in the penalty box.  Conor Mogg converted the penalty kick to give Hubbard a 2-0 halftime lead.

The first half was pretty evenly played with both teams moving the ball pretty well and creating scoring chances.  Kennedy created a few nice chances in the first half but was unable to finish.

In the second half Kennedy did exactly what they wanted to do and that was to score early in the half.  Just two minutes into the second half Kennedy scored to cut the lead to 2-1 Hubbard.  The game went back and forth again then Kennedy tied the game 2-2 off a scramble in front of the net.

With 20 minutes left in the second half and tied.  Hubbard really started picking up the intensity and taking the game to Kennedy.  At the 18:00 mark Hubbard got called for a hold in the penalty box off a corner kick that resulted into the game winning goal for Kennedy.  Now Hubbard down 3-2 with 18:00 minutes left in the game.  Hubbard response very well and played with fire, passion, and intensity that put Kennedy’s defense under pressure until the whistle blew to end the game.

This was a great team effort for the Eagles.  They had the never die attitude and worked extremely well as a unit tonight.  With 45 seconds in the game Conor Mogg took a long left footed shot from the left side that caught the Keeper off his line.  The ball hit the keepers out stretched hands and look like at was going in the goal.  With the keeper out of the play and the ball one yard from crossing the goal line Kennedy some how cleared the ball off the line and held on for the win.
