Hubbard and Lakeview battle to 1-1 tie for the TAC 8 Title

Hubbard, OH—Hubbard (7-0-3) in the TAC battles Lakeview (8-1-1) for the Championship.  Both teams played an excellent game tonight in front of a huge crowd.  This was one of the best played soccer games all year for Hubbard.

The game went back and forth with both teams creating some nice looks at goal but neither team could find the net.  Hubbard’s R.J. Lee had two very good chances in the first half but Lakeview’s Keeper made a two very good reads on the play and closed down R.J. Lee making R.J. play the ball into his body.

The Eagles or Bulldogs was unable to score in the first half and the score was 0-0 at the half.  The second half was just as tense as the first half.  Both teams were pressing for that all important goal. It wasn’t until 12:00 minutes left in the game when Hubbard’s Greg Orr scored his second career goal and his most important goal on a scramble in front of Lakeview’s keeper to put Hubbard up 1-0.

Lakeview bounced right back three minutes later to tie the game at 1-1.  Hubbard was trying to clear the ball that got deflected to a Lakeview player who knocked in the game tying goal.  Both teams were going for the win and created a few more chances with both keepers coming up big for their teams.  Hubbard’s Keeper Galen Hayek played an outstanding game tonight between the post.  Galen made a very critical one on one save just moments before the half the keep the score tied at 0-0

Hubbard (10-3-3) had a great regular season and now waits to play the winner of Niles and Lakeview in the playoffs on Thursday, October 18 at Home.
