Hubbard and Lakeview battle to 1-1 tie for
the TAC 8 Title
The game went back and forth
with both teams creating some nice looks at goal but neither team could find
the net. Hubbard’s R.J. Lee had two very
good chances in the first half but Lakeview’s Keeper made a two very good reads
on the play and closed down R.J. Lee making R.J. play the ball into his body.
The Eagles or Bulldogs was
unable to score in the first half and the score was 0-0 at the half. The second half was just as tense as the
first half. Both teams were pressing for
that all important goal. It wasn’t until 12:00 minutes
left in the game when Hubbard’s Greg Orr scored his second career goal and his
most important goal on a scramble in front of Lakeview’s keeper to put Hubbard
up 1-0.
Lakeview bounced right back
three minutes later to tie the game at 1-1.
Hubbard was trying to clear the ball that got deflected to a Lakeview
player who knocked in the game tying goal.
Both teams were going for the win and created a few more chances with
both keepers coming up big for their teams.
Hubbard’s Keeper Galen Hayek played an outstanding game tonight between
the post. Galen made a very critical one
on one save just moments before the half the keep the score tied at 0-0
Hubbard (10-3-3) had a great
regular season and now waits to play the winner of
