The Eagles grind out a 1-0 win over Kennedy

Hubbard, Oh—Hubbard did everything right tonight but only found the net once. The entire team moved the ball very well. The defense was solid all night for the Eagles. Hubbard was getting all the possession in the first half but enable to find back of the net. Kennedy’s defense did a nice job in shutting down the Eagle offense just outside the penalty box.
Kennedy’s three primary defenders were very tall, lanky and had great lateral movement making it hard for the Eagle offense in creating good scoring chances. Hubbard kept the ball in their possession and played a very good first half.
The second half mirrored the first half. The game was being controlled by the Eagles but no goals were being scored. Finally, midway through the second half Hubbard’s Eric Pavia made a great counter attacking run out of the back and found R.J. Lee in a seam just outside the 18. R.J. Lee quickly turned his defender to the inside and hit a beautiful left footed shot to beat the keeper on the ground near post for the 1-0 lead.
Hubbard’s defense had all the goals they needed and defended the goal very well for the remainder of the game. Congratulations to the entire team on a well played game.
And thanks to all the parents who attended our 10th annual Youth Night. There were easily over 100 boys and girls who made it to the game tonight. Parents thanks again.
