Hubbard 6, Newton Falls 2
Hubbard, OH—Hubbard picked up right where they left off on
Tuesday night. This was the first
complete game for the Eagles as the intensity and ball movement were very good
for the entire game.
The Eagles did an excellent job
in putting Newton
Falls under a lot of
pressure from the beginning to the end.
Hubbard got to the ball and applied good pressure on Newton Falls
that resulted in R.J. Lee getting tripped in the penalty box just five minutes
into the game. Alex Chick converted the
penalty kick to give Hubbard a 1-0 lead.
Newton Falls tied it up 10 minutes later off a direct kick to even
the game at 1-1. From that point on it
was all Eagles as the racked up four more goals before halftime. Scoring the second goal was R.J. Lee assisted
by Alex Chick. Paul Greef scored the
next two goals for the Eagles. One was a
beautiful one touch right footed shot around 20 yards out and the other with
the left foot that the keeper couldn’t hold onto.
Tom Belin picked up the
assist on Paul’s first goal and R.J. Lee picked up the assist on Paul’s second
goal. Alex Chick closed out the scoring
for the Eagles in the first half with a very nice left footed goal assisted by
Paul Greef.
R.J. Lee got the only goal in
the second half assisted by Alex Chick to give Hubbard the 6-2 win.
Keeper Galen Hayek had 5
saves for the Eagles.
