Hubbard 1, Lakeview 3

 

Cortland, OH—Lakeview and Hubbard played to a 1-1 tie at halftime.  The game was very tight up and down the field.  Neither team could take control of the game.  Lakeview got their first goal off a ball that got away from the Hubbard Keeper and Hubbard’s A.J. Pulice got tripped in the penalty box for a penalty kick that was converted by Lex Gasco to even the score 1-1.

 

The second half went about the same.  At the 25:00 minute mark Hubbard’s Carl Schutle pushed forward and hit a very nice shot that went right to the Lakeview keeper who made the save.  Just one minute later Lakeview’s big central mid ripped a rope from about 25 yards out and one of the nicest shots I’ve seen this year put Lakeview up 2-1.

 

Hubbard kept pushing forward and gave themselves some very nice scoring chances at close range that were cleared by Lakeview defenders within the goal box.

 

Lakeview scores their third goal with 3:48 left on the game and held on for the win 3-1.

 

Hubbard host Mooney on Wed. Oct. 12 for their last regular season game.
