Hubbard 1, Lakeview 2

Hubbard, OH-- Hubbard lost another heartbreaking game with 1.4 second left in the game.

Mark Sarisky scored midway through the first half off an assist by Scott Northcott to take a 1-0 lead. The score remained 1-0 Eagles until a controversial call on a throw-in with 9:09 left in the game.

Hubbard's Keeper Aaron Severa was pushed/obstructed in getting to the ball on the throw-in. The result was Lakeview scoring a goal that hit the Keeper's hand and went in the net for the 1-1 tie.

Then something happened with 1.4 second left in the game that I never saw in 30 years as a player, coach, or spectator.

Hubbard wasn't able to clear the ball on the left side of the field with about 15 seconds left in the game. The ball was miss kicked when we tried to clear the ball, instead the ball went to a Lakeveiw player, who crossed the ball to the left wing that one touch the ball to Lakeview's leading scorer running down the middle of the field. He beat the last defender and connected on an 18 yard shot with 1.4 second left in the game to give Lakeview the 2-1 and the Co-Tac-8 Champs.

The positive that came out of this game is that Hubbard can still play, compete and beat the best teams in the area even being down two of their best players.

Hubbard's JV 7-2-4 tied Lakview 1-1.
