The Eagles upsets undefeated Champion 2-0
Hubbard, OH-- Hubbard gets their biggest win of the year tonight. Champion was 11-0, ranked 5th in the state, and is seeded No. 1 in the district tournament.
Wow, what a big win for this team! The Eagles outplayed and earned this victory against one of the best teams in the area. In the third game of the season Hubbard got beat 6-1 at champion and tonight they turned the tables on Champion giving them their first loss of the season.
Hubbard jumped on Champion right from the start tonight. They held a lot of possession on the ball and used the entire field extremely well. We attacked Champions defense from all angles and did a great job putting them back on their heels.
Josh Petrusko put Hubbard up 1-0 midway through the first half off an assist from Anthony Tombo. Then midway through the second half Chris Styn scores on an unassisted goal that just was an unbelievable shot to ice the game for the Eagles.
Hubbard out shot Champion 17-15
The defense Billy Williams, Joe Wylie, Mark Sarisky, and Carl Zents played an awesome game tonight. They integrated great with the offense tonight and didn't give up very many good scoring chances. Also, keeper Aaron Severa played his best game in the net. Aaron did a great job all night in shutting down Champions big throw-ins.
The defense went with a little different set up tonight which seemed to be an adjustment that Champion could not counter. Congratulations Defense!!!!
Great game, if you missed this one, you missed a great one.
Congratulations to the JV team for their 0-0 tie against Champion
