Hubbard downs Poland 3-1
Hubbard, OH-- Hubbard came away with a win on a shortened game because of inclement weather.
Chris Styn got Hubbard on the board first 1-0 on an excellent shot from around 30 to 35 yards out. The goalie had no chance on this ball. The ball found the net in the upper left corner. Anthony Tombo picked up the assist on Styn's goal.
Anthony Tombo scores the second goal for the Eagles at the 25:00 mark to put Hubbard up 2-0. Tom Angelo picked up the assist as he sent a nice ball into Tombo who finished with a very nice one touch shot.
Two minutes later Poland comes back and scores on a very nice chip shot over the Keepers head. One minute later goes up again by a score of 3-1. Justin Daly broke through the defense to score his 12th goal of the season on an assist by Josh Petrusko.
The defense played another nice game and Keeper Mike Mogg came up with some very nice saves.
Hubbard's JV's won 2-0 Jon Rose scored on a penalty kick and David Marshall scored on a twenty yard shot of his left foot. The defense played very well in posting their second win of the season.
Hubbard (5-2) plays again Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Badger. The Varsity plays first and the game starts at 4:30 and the JV will follow.
