Hubbard opens up with a 4-2 win over Niles

Niles, OH-- Justin Daly Hat Tricks the Red Dragons in season opener. Justin got the Eagles on the board first with a direct kick at the 36:00 mark of the first half.

Niles tied the score on their own direct kick at the 18:00 of the first half. Then at the 10:00 minute mark, Justin Daly got his second goal unassisted to put the Eagles back on top 2-1.

Hubbard goes up 3-1 on another unassisted goal by Daly. Niles hung around and scored their second at the 10:00 mark of the second half on a 30 yard shot that caught Hubbard's keeper a little off his line.

Justin Daly gets a breakaway at the 6:00 minute mark, takes a hard shot, the keeper deflects the ball out and A.J. Giancola is there to knock in the goal to put Hubbard back up 4-2.

Hubbard had 26 shots on goal; Niles had 17 shots on goal.

Hubbard had 3 corner kicks; Niles had 2 corner kicks.

Keeper Justin Hayek had nine saves for the Eagles.

Hubbard opened up the game tonight very tight and nervous. Everyone on the field was pressing to do too much with the ball. It was a difficult go early in the match for the Eagles, but at 13 minutes left in the first half Hubbard relaxed and started playing with composure.

From that point on the Eagles played a very nice game. Niles made it difficult on the Eagles, because of all the booting they did during the game. Niles did not settle the ball down all night. Their game was to clear the ball out of the back to the forwards, which two of them had nice speed and a little ball skill and they would try to break through our defense.

Hubbard plays Canfield in their home debut this Thursday.
