Hubbard 4, Salem 1

Salem, OH—Hubbard put together their best offensive game of the season led by Senior Conor Mogg.  Hubbard was all over Salem from the start of the game.  The Eagles came out and established ball possession from the start and kept Salem’s defense under a lot of pressure.

Just two minutes into the game Conor Mogg puts Hubbard up 1-0 on a 20 yard direct kick from the left side of the penalty box.  The Eagles created a few more nice scoring chances but nothing in the net.  Salem tied the game at 1-1 on a 25 yard shot and played Hubbard to a 1-1 halftime score.

Hubbard jumps out quick in the second half when Nick Pedaline’s crisp pass deflected off of the last defender in the goal box for the 2-1 lead.  Sterling Morris sets up Tim Kemner on the third goal.  Sterling crossed a beautiful low ball through the Salem’s defense that Kemner ran onto and very calmly slide the ball passed Salem’s keeper low and to his right for that all important third goal.

Hubbard closed the door on Salem when Freshmen Connor Syersak chips Salem’s last defender and Conor Mogg got to the ball before the keeper and toe poked the ball into the goal for the 4-1 lead.

Congratulation to the Eagles for their very nice team effort! Kudos to the offense for the best showing of the year as the netted the most goals in one game all season.
