Hubbard 0, Lakeview 3
Hubbard, Oh—Lakeview scored
two goals in the first 18 minutes of the game to take a 2-0 lead in league
play. In both goals Lakeview forwards
were able to get behind Hubbard’s defenders as they scored on their first two
of three shots of the game.
Hubbard made a slight
adjustment in their defense after Lakeview’s second goal and held Lakeview
scoreless for the remainder of the game.
Hubbard’s Nick Pedaline came very close to cutting the lead three
minutes before halftime. Nick took a
ball down the left side and attacked the keeper with the ball and slide to ball
passed the keeper only to have the ball cleared off the line just before the
ball entered the goal.
In the second have Hubbard
got some nice possession on the ball and run the field very strong. Lakeview got their 3-0 lead when Hubbard was
trying to clear the ball wide right and scored an own goal to give Lakeview a 3-0
lead. Then shortly after the own goal
Conor Mogg ripped a very nice left footed shot that had the Lakeview keeper
beat only to see the ball hit the goalpost and deflect out.
Even tough Hubbard did not
score they play hard tonight, created some very nice scoring chances and were a
bit unlucky not to put the ball in the ball of the net. Hubbard’s Conor Mogg, Sterling Morris, and
Tim Kemner were cited for their outstanding play tonight.
Lakeveiw had 13 shots on goal
compared to Hubbard’s eight.
