Hubbard 0, Howland 4
Hubbard, Oh—Hubbard battled
Howland tough and the game was much closer than the score indicates. Just two minutes of the game Hubbard’s Tim
Kemner had one of the best scoring chances for either team in the first half. Tim took a ball from over top the last
defender and was setting up his shot when Howland’s left defender closed him
down and disrupted his shot.
The score stayed 0-0 until
just minutes before halftime when Howland scored off a twenty yard shot to take
a 1-0 lead. Howland was getting the
better of the possession game but Hubbard’s defense held Howland from any real
good scoring opportunities.
The first 21:00 of the second
half was a mirror of the rest half.
Hubbard and Howland both were trying and falling to create any good
scoring chances. Hubbard had a bad break
that went against them that resulted in that all important 2-0 led for
Howland.
Hubbard down 0-2 with 13:45
in the game was stopped on a penalty kick by the Howland keeper and the score
remained 2-0 Howland. Howland struck
twice more in the final 12:00 of the game to clam the 4-0 win.
