| Halflife/Counter-Strike | ||||||||||||||
| This month I am doing a review on the old but yet popular Halflife/Counter-Strike. I will first do a review on the original game Halflife because this and Counter-Strike are my favourites of the Halflife Generation pack. In the Halflife pack you get Halflife, Counter-Strike, Blue Shift and the newest: Opposing Force. I havent played Blue Shift or Opposing force yet because i have been playing Halflife and Counter-Strike over the net. Anyway, I am doing reviews on these old but fantastic games because they are great. | ||||||||||||||

| In Halflife the main goal is to escape the office complex and kill almost anything you come across that either has a gun or has green skin. You start off in the train which takes a good 10 mins to go past in which you do nothing what so ever except watch the scenery go past and watch credits. Anyway when you get in you are in a reception which plays purpose to the game, well neither do half the rooms you come across in the game. Anyway, you then finally get to the "Test Lab" where you take part in a test which goes horribly wrong. !!DO NOT WHERE HEADPHONES FOR THIS PART!! I did, I dont like scary games all that much but if you havent seen this part before then you will be as freaked out as I was when I first saw this part. I have screenshots at the bottom of this part. Anyway you then soon get a crowbar which is good laugh to hit little spider things that jump at you. You then get a gun but thats a bit further on. Also you can get grenades. Soon after that you will get a shotgun and then a machine gun. I got very near the end but then I had to re-install it | ||||||||||||||
| Counter-Strike is an add-on to Halflife but is still very good. Counter-Strike is a multiplayer game which everyone plays on over the internet and will improve your skill over time. When you first play this I will assure you that you will die instantly against the other players because firstly you wont know the keys and also you wont know any of the maps. I first played this game down at Wire World and I had a great time and wanted to play some more. I cant really say much because its not a huge game although it is great. The only thing that is bad about this game is that you have to download 1.5 to play on the net which takes about 10 hours on a standered 56k modem but on broadband it would take about 30mins. My favourite levels in Halflife are Office and Assualt (Warehouse). I think that this gfame is a fantastic add-on to Halflife and I think SAierra should make more games like this. Although they are making a 1 player version of Counter-Strike called Condition Zero and I am looking forward to this! | ||||||||||||||
