Season One
                                                                 Summary

We found the first season to be quite difficult as this game was completely new to us.  Overall we think we did ok but did make a few mistakes. There were very few horses in the game and as such fields were small and the temptation was too great to over race the horses to pick up easy money.  As a result these horses were under trained (as well as wrongly trained) and fared badly as they got older.  However out of our first ten horses only one failed to win a race in its career .

Here is a brief snapshot of the careers of the horses that first appeared in Season One with any significant race wins and their highest recorded RR. A Blazing Saddles theme for the names if you hadn't already guessed.
  Season One Colts
Sheriff Bart   G1, G3(2), RR 126

A tough consistent sprinter.  He showed little in season one but excelled in season two picking up money in six consecutive Group races winning two of them (Group 3 Prix Servante and Group 1 Sprint Cup).  Did not sustain this level of performance but picked up a Group  3 Pavilion Stakes and a handicap as a 4 yo.
Gov Lepetomane G1, G2(2) RR 134

One of our favourites from season one.  Always ran his heart out and eventually proved himself to be a top class horse. Disappointing as a 2 yo although was running over an inadequate mile trip he stepped up in distance as a 3 yo winning a Group 2 Derby Trial before being 4th in both English and Irish Derbies.  He needed further though and it was when stepping up further in trip he got his greatest successes as a 4yo winning the Group 2 Prix De Barbeville and finally achieving Group 1 success in the marathon 3 mile Prix du Cadran.
Reverend Johnson    G3(3), RR 124

Another of our favourites.  Won his maiden in the first week of the sim and was quickly pushed into Group races.  Won the Group 3 Coventry Stakes in week 2 but then unfortunately came up against one better in three Group 1 races finishing second to Ripped Pocket, Ceylon Sapphire and Blackjack Magic. He consistently picked up money in lots of Group races in subsequent seasons but only ever won the Group 3 Palace House Stakes as a 4yo and 5yo.
Buddy Bizarre    only won 2 handicaps, RR 97

Always ran his best but unfortunately that was rarely good enough to win.  He did manage to pick up prize money consistently and managed to win handicaps over 1m2f and 1m4f despite the fact he never broke the century with his RR.
Waco Kid G2, RR 114

A nice horse who won the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes in season 1 and a decent handicap in season 2.  Failed to train on as a 4 yo and 5 yo and did not make the frame  in those seasons.
