~ Poetry Introduction ~
My poetry style is very simple. I like to think that the way you read my poetry (the rhythm and tempo of it) is very natural and sounds just as if one is reading a journal of personal thoughts. In fact, I call my style of poetry "Journal Style". You will notice that in keeping with this "journal style", I do not usually stick to a formal rhythm or rhyme scheme. As I stated in my introduction on my index page, I started writing my poetry as a teenager to help me sort out my emotions and also as a way to express what I saw and felt in the people around me.
The subjects I usually deal with in my poetry are that of abuse, death, love, growing up; things that affect us all. Though none of my poetry is spoken directly in terms of just *my* personal memories, they are meant to sound as if they are the speaker's personal thoughts. Usually what I am trying to convey in my poetry in a sense of understanding of issues that everyone deals with. Its all in keeping with my "personal philosophy" to help people set aside the assumptions that they make about other people and promote understanding and acceptance. To read more about my personal philosopy, read my personal/about me page.
