8/12/2004 Thoughts on the upcoming right wing takeover.
There are a couple of options for Bush to retain the Whitehouse. (Notice I didn't say win the election).
1. Anyone notice the Fear warning this week? Now its an assassination threat to world leaders. This little jewel injected into the press by Carl Rove, is a perfect set up.
Now for the bit of misdirection -> the attempt will not be against Bush, it will be against Kerry. If the attempt succeeds, well easy enough, there will not be enough time to spin up another candidate. If it fails, it still creates enough chaos for Bush to declare Martial Law, and postpone the election indefinitely.
This is also an option of getting rid of his sandbag of a running-mate. He is already campaigning as if McCain is the VP pick. Now just to get the assassination attempt against the VP and Bush creates some sympathy votes, and replaces Cheney with McCain (who is well respected by both Dems and Reps). The attempt fails BTW, Cheney is too important for the Halliburton link, he just bows out gracefully.
2. Diebold. Need I say more than they were a huge contributor to Bush's re-election campaign?
