From: "Nguyen, Dang" To: vsen2 Subject: Post 6th April Report. Date sent: Mon, 07 Apr 97 15:05:00 GMT Dear All, Just to let everyone know of my thoughts on how the sports day event on Sunday 6th April, in London went. I felt that it was a great success. The organisation and planning of the day was superb, and extremely professional. I would like to express a big thank you to the organisers and anyone else who helped in arranging the event. As one of the competitor in the 5-a-side football, I thought the planning and running of the games were excellent. Even though I disagreed with certain refereeing decisions (e.g. a disallowed goal that was perfectly legal - "An Ung !!!"), but overall the four referees performed excellently in a difficult job. The games were played in good spirit, even though some teams took things rather too seriously, there were not too many vicious fouls or rough plays. It was competitive but fair. Well done to South Bank University (SBU) for winning, they well deserved to win, and were overall the most consistent and best team taking part. In the end there were no losers, everyone had a good time and made new friends. That was what the day was all about, to meet other Vietnamese and have fun. Due to the harsh surface of the playing pitch there were a few minor cuts and bruises when players fell. But thank to the work of the on site medical staff, our own "Ms Nightingale", who treated and bandaged all the injuries superbly. I was sure some player were deliberately getting injured just to be treated by her. So thank you to everyone involved, those who took part and the spectators to make it a most enjoyable day. I look forward to attending the next organised event. Cheers, Dang.
