SUBJECT:PUT THE FEAR AWAY
As I think, to put fear away is your challenge. How to think about new world and try to achieve is making you successed. Three years ago, I came to the United States. It was really difficulty for me to get through the time that I spent in High School. When I got into the eight classes of second of my Freshman year, I was lost. I had no place to go and there were no one helped me to study and helped me to understand in those eight classes. Except my English calss, I had regular classes with all the students who were native Americans. I was really shy to speak in front of people. I thought they were going to laugh at me and thought that they were not going to understand what I was saying to them. It was my mistake to think that way. Some of them were laughing at me, however they didn't really do it to me. Because they had same situation like I did. Their parents were also immigrants to the United States.
How I think of people is changing me to look up the new world of opportunity. I couldn't understand what the teachers taught me in the class for a while until I could hear the English property. I had hard time to get through. I even went to get the tutoring for my English and homeworks done. I also spent all time to do my homeworks,especially for my history class. I had to find all the words that I didn't know and read the articles to do my works. Which was bad for me. In order to do my works, I had to understand the task to solve them. I was also scared when the test time was ahead of me. It was possible to use the electronic dictionary, but I wanted to understand by my own, not with a dictionary.
Three years has past already for me. I am not even good at English as other students who were born in United States, because I am not American. Howevere I am getting better in English and can have all conversation with other people. I can have fun with them, I can enjoy by myself in anywhere. I didn't want to participate in any other works and clubs, but as time goes by, I was changing from old to new. It gave me a hope that I can do it and someone like me can do anything by myself. Just try to not be shy and be challenged yourselves. It will bring the new point of view of the world and you could contact the whole new world.
Nothing is impossible to challenge for me now. I was pretty much scared when I was about to start my college year at Old Westbury.
I knew that it different from High School life. But I am doing better than I was expecting to myself. I made a lot of friends and I heard a lot of informations even though it was only for two or three weeks of college life. Try your best and then give up when you think that is not going to effect anything of you. Otherwise, do not give up to learn something, face them and feel yourself for future. home page
