Beliefs
Trying to make sense of it all...
I believe in a superior power behind outer reality. Just I don't believe He's a he - I believe S/he's beyond sex, but I believe S/he contains both male and female aspects that S/he would like to be in balance in this world and in people individually - akin to Shiva/Shakti balance in Tantra

I do attend a Christian church, in fact I sing in choir - even soloed in the Messiah last Christmas (tenor) - and I don a white "dress" as my wife likes to call it and do the Chalice thing during communion every couple of months. The chalice is this perfect female symbol - the container of God's blood - She is bigger than God in that way. It's a shame there's no part of the service that adresses Her (though I often think of the Holy Ghost as a feminine power...any precedent for that?)

I actually think that Christ was a bringer of female values to what was previously a male dominated culture - "love one another" wasn't exactly something new in the world - but it was more of a female value, the relation of mother to child  - and it converted old Yahweh, the angry, vengeful God into a more balanced God of forgiveness - I'm sure some of the good ole boys of that era thought Him a little namby pamby...!

I believe that prayer does work in the world - that we're all connected and can help one another through prayer and that we can get guidance through prayer and dreams and coincidences and one another too...

I believe God/dess needs our help - that's the free will bit: to make the world sacred instead of letting it settle into the profane...active effort needed to counteract entropy/decay/corruption (evil=actively siding with corruption)

I believe theater, music and the arts can be channels for that expression of sacredness - or be misused to express profanity - although that's debatable - better free speech than controlled sacredness, I guess - anyhow, "official" sacredness can be profane too...etc etc

And yes , I believe in Love and try my best to deliver, though a little self-centered, more than I would like...

In the end, wouldn't it be really cool to be able to worship and pray to a Goddess who knows about love and fertility and the power of the Eternal Feminine, who isn't the purest  virgin, but who has an erotic, natural, Earthy quality that forgives our "sins" because she sees through them to our childlike humanity, and who lovingly asks us to better ourselves for the sake of the world...? To me, that's where Mary Magdalene shines out - her compassion is born of self-knowledge, not perfection.
