Thanks for visiting Megan's site Where to start on 2007/2008's update it was certainly a rollercoaster of a year, started off in March I had my 5th son Matthew 8wks early, we were both quite ill but made it through and he came home 2wks later. When he came home he stopped breathing one morning , and was rushed to the hospital placed on a ventilator for a week and then week later came home, he suffered apnoeas with unknown cause and in the month of April he stopped breathing a total of 5 times. His sister was certainly looking after him .I was scared would lose him. We had been home a few days when in May I felt unwell, I went local hospital as thought I had an Apendixicitis but it turned out to be much more serious, I do not remember much about it but family got told to expect the worst and I was rushed to ITU on a ventilator for a week then transferred to LWH HDU ward and Rosemary where I can not fault the staff. It turned out I had an abscess on my ovary which ruptured the tube and gave me peritonitis. I got out of hospital 4wks later. Once home we had moved house while I was in the hospital I came home to this baby who was 9lb , When I went into the hospital he was only 6lb and I developed Post natal depression, I was scared to bond with the baby incase lost him like I had Megan . Luckily though Sue my practise nurse who I thank knew and I saw gp, got put on anti d's , started counselling again , also I owe a lot to Jackie from our health visiting team , she has been brilliant at listening and helping me, I started baby massage and that helped lots. I still owe her a lot to this day . she and all the Health visiting Team here I found so much support that in dec when the baby was 9 months old I finally accepted him as mine and that rush of love you get when they are 1st born I experienced . So now we are in Dec 2008 the boys are coming on well although are hard work. David is now 11yrs and has Aspergers and Global delay of a 6yr old , Michael is 10yrs and has severe ADHD, Thomas is 6yrs and has signs of ADHD, Andrew is 4yrs loves nursery and is a bit hyperactive and into everything and last but not least is my little star in more than one way. Matthew he is now 21 months old and although has some delays i.e. not walking unaided or talking just babbling he is special in his own way and has been though so much. I still feel guilty I missed out on his first few months , Emma my friend is had a little girl Paige and she is beautiful Each day is harder than the next some days but we just try to carry on as best as we can, Il never forget Megan , and she will always be my baby girl Thanks for reading Helen xx |
