HOMECOMING SHOW
January 26, 2003 Sunday
From a sumptous lunch treat, we walked back to the Fleur de Lis Auditorium. The moment of truth coming closer. The hearts of "Dancetus Troupektus" beat faster. We found a few minutes free, so had one final practice to build our confidence. As mentioned earlier, the program started with a General Alumnae Meeting, (which I will soon update you with, so please visit often and get informed) ENTRA...Hooray!! Our hosts for the show were finally introduced, Ms. Nani Sehwani and Ita Herranz. (can you hear the applause in the background?) They said their hellos and introduced our dear Daisy Laurente who led the invocation. It was such a sweet sight to see a cutie-goodie-preggy walk towards the center of the stage. If only she had a veil on, it would have been close to a scene from the Bible, "Virgin Daisy"? This was followed by Malene, our hard-working alumnae batch president, with her welcome remarks. Following this was the roll call of Jubilarian Celebrants.
Daisy here, doing the invocation
And here's Malene with her welcome remark

Then here comes "Dancetus Troupektus" with the first dance medley. Before we were called in, we all gave each other a hug of moral support. No guts, no glory! Can you hear the Commodores singing the bump now? Personally, I had so much fun dancing away with the likes of Aning, Malene, Joji, Ita, Cecile, Belay and Nancy. Too bad Sisters George and Teresita were not present to witness this historic event that took place in Fleur de Lis. We would have made them proud!
"Dancetus Troupektus" Cecile, Malene, moi, Joji (are you one of us?)

Counting? nine, ten, eleven, twelve, kick! Joji, Ita, moi, Belay, Cecile
Ooopsss...carried away at this point
Concentrate, emote, watch the "drop" Belay, Aning,. Ita, Nancy
Abaw Inday!, Todo bigay..!!
Soon after giving the audience a good laugh and top entertainment (and as we grasped for breath) Sister Suzette Bautista was called on stage to present the Recognition Awards to the Past Presidents of the Alumnae Association, and they all well-deserved it. Justice Ameurfina Melencio-Herrera (1943-1947), Mrs. Rafaela Lim-Siazon **(1952-1953) Dr. Carmen Diaz-Tanedo (1953-1955 / 1988-1993), Mrs. Loreto Romualdez-Ramos (1962-1969) Mrs. Teresita Ojeda-Luz (1976-1979), Mrs. Marionette Ocampo-Martinez (1979-1982) Mrs. Consuelo Puyat-Reyes **(1982-1988), Ms. Carmelita O. Reynoso (1993 - present) (**could not make it to the ceremony) WE CONGRATULATE AND THANK THEM FOR THEIR LEADERSHIP. Following this was a Latin Dance number presented by guest HS Class '69 and '70 Some classy ladies with J Lo moves. The Coral Jubilarians came next presenting a dance medley of the bugaloo, soul, etc.. Fantastic group of ladies. They showed their support and stayed til the end of the show...Thanks! A very cute portion of the show was watching the Ruby Jubilarians in their high school uniforms. One of them was in complete uniform, socks and all with matching hair clip! They rendered two songs, one of which was a composition of Ms. Juco (if I'm not mistaken) It would be great if we can gather as much classmates as they did for our Ruby Anniversary. After the song number, came the Golden Jubilarians who presented a skit. (would you remember Mrs. isleta, SPC Pasig? well, she was a golden class member) Part of this skit was a boogie dance number. Before it was over, each one was called and presented with a bouquet of flowers by their families. (Anyone with a pic out there? would be appreciated, pls. e-mail) Sister Hilaria Suzette Bautista, SPCM President and an EDUCATOR's Awardee gave us all an inspirational talk. A powerpoint presentation of the improvements and future plans for SPCM were shown. Truly impressive changes. For more on this, visit the Alma Mater Site. After this, Malene was recalled on stage to pass on the Torch to HS Class '79, which was represented by Chiqui Escareal, (younger sis of Ate Sunny HS '75) And then, TOP SECRET revealed. The batch presented to Malene a Plaque of Appreciation for all the time and effort she exerted to make this event a success, in spite of the fact that she spent only 2 years with us in High School. This got her by surprise, and she would have hugged all of us on stage if she only could. What a great spirit girl! The real party feeling started when Route 70 was called to perform. Practically everyone in the auditorium danced, some even joined the band on stage. (here is where I spotted the nuns escaping...aha, sila na ngayon ang tumatakas ha!) Nani and Sandy did not let this opportunity pass them by. They got a hold of the mic and joined the band. Nani sang "Aint no mountain high", while Sandy shared "It's too late". Then on special request, Cecile F. was called on stage and she sang "Follow your Road"..galing!

After the show, we needed more time together, so some of us moved on to Greenbelt Makati and gorged ourselves with a delightful dinner at the Kitchen, a recommended dining place. (Mineral water served with mint leaves, sounds cool) Allow me this portion, on behalf of SPCM HS Class '78. I wish to extend our sincerest gratitude and profound appreciation to Video Sonic Production, headed by Mart and Lala Villanueva-Miranda, and the Executive Producer and Scripwriter, "Ate Sienna" and her staff for a fantastic and professional job. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Also, we'd like to express our appreciation and good wishes to all our foreign based classmates who in one way or another, offered their help and cooperation, with special mention to Marela, Kathleen, Lisa, Rica, Ana and Oochie. You all truly remain in our hearts. Thank you and we miss you! God bless you dear classmates, til we meet again. Hasta luego, ciao hermanas y amigas...
