Committee Meeting Minutes
Attending: Lynn Holmes, Joe Hogan, Sean Gooden, Katy

Popcorn:
·
U-Haul rental
approved for pick up of 241 cases of popcorn.
·
$39.95 per day, plus
$.79 a mile (40 miles), refill gas and insurance of $14.
·
Approved awarding
individual prizes of $100, $75, and $50 to the top 3 sellers in the form of a
Visa gift card, which Phillip will purchase.
·
Jamie will
order/obtain gold, silver and bronze medals for the top 3 sellers in each
den. The medals should be the type that
can be worn on the uniform.
·
Jamie will also
determine the top 3 dens for overall sales, based on the average sold per
participating scout.
·
The pack will
reward all kids for an outstanding fundraiser with a party to be determined
later; approved $10 per scout.
·
In 2009 the pack
will promote more clearly the possible awards for popcorn sales.
Den “Doodles”:
·
The Cubmaster
would like to have a way of letting the kids/parents know where to assemble at
pack meetings. Den doodles are items that are created by, and representative of,
each den. The den gathers near their den
doodle at the beginning of the meeting.
Den Leaders should be considering ideas for their dens’ doodle.
New Pack Training Co-0rdinator:

Mindy Meszaros
will be filling this role at the completion of her training.
·
Steve Hatcher
will pick up the YPS cards earned at the first pack meeting.
New Treasurer:
·
Mark Borchert
will become Pack Treasure after Stephanie Angel leaves in February.
·
Phil will analyze
budget and get proper accounts and signatures set up.
Service Project Coordinator:
·
The committee
would like someone to volunteer for this position.
·
Phil will discuss
with John Kustner possible charities to partner with.
·
The committee
would like to organize a summer charity project.
PackMaster:
·
Joe Hogan is
willing to advise each den leader one on one regarding issues with packmaster,
attempting to resolve issues over the phone first, then in person if necessary.
Membership Coordination:
·
Phil will
investigate the status of our membership list.
November:
·
Phil will contact
Cindy Howery for the status of our November food drive.
December:
·
Fritz and Amanda
Turecek are working on caroling. Dens
will be assigned specific locations.
·
Den Leaders may
want to practice some caroling songs with the boys.
Tee Pee Pole:
·
We have 1 broken
tee pee pole. Sean and Carlo will
consult on how to go about replacing just 1 pole, or if the tee pee can be used
with only 13 poles.
Pinewood
·
The track has
arrived and is currently stored in the Holmes’ garage.
·
Items still to be
addressed for the
Hikes:
·
Coordination,
commitment and communication regarding the hikes are not at the level the
committee would like.
·
Sean will
announce the upcoming months’ hike at the Pack Meeting, and ask for a
commitment from leaders or parents to lead the hike.
·
Phil will be
thinking about how to handle hike information and hike cooperation more
effectively.
Misc.:
·
We need new
storage, specifically an area large enough to store 14 foot long items. Sean and Phil to investigate.
·
Steve H. will try
to gain access to Trailblazer Elementary at
·
Steve H. will
also investigate the option of moving our committee meetings to the 2nd
Tuesday of every month.
·
Den Leaders who
need name tags need to contact Sean Gooden.
·
The newsletter is
on hold at this time due to an illness in the Miller family.
·
Rank advancements
are awarded at the pack meeting; most others are at the den meetings.
