Committee Meeting

April 14, 2009

 

 

Attending: Sean Gooden, Dave Leeret, Mark Borchert, Fritz Wiegman, Rebecca Wilson, Lynn Holmes

 

April Den Meeting:  All set and ready to go.

 

May Den Meeting:

·         Rebecca and Katy will purchase new, reusable bingo cards. 

·         Price will be $5 per card, with a $20-for-5 cards option. 

·         Official rules will be posted on the website and forwarded to the individual dens by email.

June Crossover:

·         Scheduled for Sunday May 31, 2009 at Redstone Park.

·         Pavillion is ours from 3 pm to 7 pm.  Set up will be from 3-4pm.  Event will officially start at 4 pm.

·         $100 facility fee will be waived by Metro Districts/HRCA if the pack participates in a service project.  Dave Leeret will research our options.

·         Dens will be assigned drinks/sides/dessert.

July Activity:

·         Fritz asked if a July activity is needed in order to qualify for the “Quality Unit Award”.

·         If a July activity is required, Fritz suggested another Raingutter Regatta, while Dave Leeret offered participating in the Highlands Ranch 4th of July Parade. 

·         We will decide in May what activity to participate in, if one is required.

Planning Meeting:

·         Still need to decide on a date for planning next year’s events, but it was agreed to wait until this year’s events are complete, specifically Crossover.

·         The planning meeting may also include sorting through the items in the storage unit and moving them to the new unit.

 

·         One goal of the planning meeting is make to better use of the guidelines for ideas provided by BSA.

 

Flag Ceremony:

·         Dave Leeret is organizing cub scout volunteers for a flag ceremony at his TaeKwonDo tournament scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd at Thunder Ridge High School.

·         9-12 scouts are needed to participate.  Rehearsal  will be from approximately 7-8 pm on Friday, May 1st, will the ceremony taking place the morning of the 2nd.

·         Interested scouts should contact Dave at [email protected].  Scouts should volunteer only if they understand the importance of acting responsibly and respectfully before, during, and after the ceremony.
