ARTICLE 19                            ROUND ROBIN PLAYOFF RULES/FORMAT

 

19.1     The top four (4) teams will advance to the Divisional semi-finals. In the event that two or more teams are tied after the Round Robin play, the tie will be broken as follows:

(a)  If more than two (2) teams are tied for the last playoff spot a team, then the team that has beaten the other teams shall be awarded the higher spot.

(b)  If more than two (2) are tied, then the team with the most wins will determine the higher placement.

(c)  If two (2) teams are tied, then the team that defeated the other in the Round Robin will advance.

(d)   If still tied, then the team with the most wins will advance.

(e)) If still tied, then the team with the fewest penalty minutes in Round-Robin  play will advance.

(f)  If still tied, then we will flip a coin.

 

19.2          A one game semi-final will be played. The pairings will be 1st versus 4th and 2nd versus 3rd.

19.3          A one game final will be played with the higher ranked team as the home team.

19.4          If the semi-final and/or the final game of the divisional final championship round are tied after regulation time, the deadlock will be broken by eliminating one (1) player per team at the end of each minute (stop time).

19.5          Player elimination is as follows:

4 on 4 for 1minute      3 on 3 for 1minute

2 on 2 for 1minute      1 on 1 until the tie is broken.

 

At the end of each minute a face-off will re-occur at center ice.  Substitutions are allowed.

 

All overtime games will be sudden death, and

(a)     A penalty called during the overtime will result in the player being ejected for the remainder of the game ;

(b)     If a goalie is removed (at any point during the overtime) he can be re-inserted.

(c)     Any penalty time remaining at the end of regulation time will be cancelled;
