Fate by Seive (4/2/2001)
Seive snuck about Zozo quietly, his shadowy form blending with his surroundings.
He had detected battle in the area, and always looking to kill, began to investigate.
Turning a corner, chaos met his eyes.
Figures in purple and black battled others in red, blue, and black. There must have been at least 20 fighters on each side, pummeling each other with magic and weapon blows. Seive couldn't help but smirk. The Church of Strife and the Church of Nisstyre fighting each other? What a perfect oppportunity, Seive smiled as he scanned the battlefield for an appropriate target. Choosing the nearest Strife follower, Seive uncloaked himself and let loose a hail of meteors at him. His target reeled, and fell, unconscious. Laughing, Seive checked his body quickly for items of value. Finding none, he stood and prepared to engage another target, when...

WHAM!!!!!!!!

Seive was sent hurling backwards by an unseen force.
Quickly getting back up, he turned to face his foe, and froze.
Before him stood a female form, wearing the colors of Nisstyre, and a gleaming Leader insignia.
"Sharp."
"You look surprised to see me, Seive," she said with a sneer. Seive was speechless, and helplessly frozen in shock as he watched Sharp wind up and plant a well placed fist in his jaw.
Snapped back to reality, Seive jumped up, and unsheathed his sword, ready to fight. Sharp drew two daggers flaming with an unholy light.
The two circled each other slowly, eyes locked on each other. Seive couldn't help but notice she used the same technique, guarded the same vital areas, looked to attack the same places as he did.
One attacked, the other parried easily, each knowing what the other would do. Seive had left Sharp in CoN on bad terms, and now began to regret it, as a flaming dagger bit into his arm.
Three well placed kicks and Seive again fell to the ground. Sharp walked over to Seive and stood over him, daggers ready to strike. "Well now, this is odd..." Seive shifted uncomfortably as Sharp pinned him down to the ground.
Meanwhile, Sharp's allies had forced the Cyricists to withdraw, and now they too came to look down on their former Lord.
Smiling devilishly, Sharp drew her face close to Seive, who drew back momentarily.
Not breaking eye contact, she whispered "Remember the last time we were this close?"
Seive nodded "That I do, that I do...what will you do with me?"
Sharp drew even closer, and grinned evilly. Seive held his breath. Closer and closer she drew, and then suddenly stood up and cackled. "Just making sure you remembered."
With that she ordered her followers to return to the clan hall, and began to leave.
Seive let out a deep breath, and stood.
Suddenly he heard a voice behind him.
"I remember the last time too, Seive. And I'll never forget it. Never."
Seive whirled, and Sharp sent him sprawling over 20 feet again.
With that she drew up her cloak, uttered a few words, and disappeared.
Seive lay on the ground, confused, intrigued, and......interested.
Fate : Fate or Pure Coincidence by Sharp (4/3/2001)
Adrenaline coarsed through the intricate metal network of Sharp's body. She hadn't faced Seive for such a long time. He was just a faded memory, until this day. Sharp cursed herself harshly for not taking his life when she had the chance. Her heart thundered in her chest at the thought of it. "If I see him again, I shall have to kill him".

Later...

Spreading the Nightmare as usual, Sharp stood her ground in battle against the joined forces of CoD and CoS. She liked to play with the odds, knowing they were against her. She slashed madly at the limbs of her enemy, blindly, furiously. Casting huge rocks upon her attackers. Then, in a moment she could feel the advantage slip away. 2, 3, 4 more figures jumped savagely at her. She fumbled, lost her footing but swiftly regained her stance. It wasn't enough. Reeling in agony, Sharp desperately prayed to Nisstyre "Help me, Lord! In thy name bring me out of this alive". Swirling around her, the figures madly began to devour her. She felt her life slipping...

Dazed and wounded, half unconscious, but still standing, groggy, staggering... A hazy cloaked, vaguely familiar frame appeared beside her as she stumbled backwards. He deftly propped Sharp up on his leg, holding her firmly with one arm around her waist, the glint of his magnificent sword flashed before the two, drawing life from the swarm of crazed adversaries. He backed away, slowly, keeping the opponents at bay, gripping her tightly. "Seive, is it you...?" Sharp whispered breathlessly into his neck as she lost concsiousness.
Fate : Fate it is. by Seive (4/3/2001)
Sharp awoke to find herself laying on her back. Still groggy, she tried to sit up, and a flash of pain erupted all through her body. Crawling painfully towards a wall of the small room she was in, she propped herself up. Slowly, the image sharpened, and she found herself in a damp, wet, dim room. Immediately she checked for her weapons, and was not too surprised to see her daggers were missing. Not sensing any immediate danger, she relaxed a bit to gather her thoughts. The last thing she remembered was being overwhelmed by her enemies. But then she should be dead right now... And then Sharp remembered the strange cloaked figure who had come to her aid. The word came to her mouth, but was bittersweet in leaving it:
"Seive..."
A small torch tried in vain to light the entire room, casting long shadows about. However, Sharp noticed the shadows were especially deep in one corner of the room, the one opposite where she rested.
Concentrating deeply, she realized the deep shadows were hiding something. Slowly, two bright spots appeared in the dark corner.
A shiver ran down Sharp's spine as she stared at the two lights. They looked so much like eyes, and Sharp had seen eyes that glowed with such intensity and fire only once before... "I'm glad to see you're awake now, Sharp."
The voice echoed through Sharp's head, but she was still too groggy to identify it. From the deep shadows, two objects were thrown out and clattered to the ground in front of her. Trying to focus through blurred vision, she recognized them: her daggers.
She crawled across the floor slowly and painfully towards the daggers, willing herself to go on. She reached them finally and looked back towards the shadows as the figure began to emerge. Overcome with exhaustion form the effort, she began to slip back into unconsciousness, but not before gazing into the fiery eyes and familiar face of a former friend.
"Oh God, not YOU!" She cried softly as she fell to the ground again, losing her grip on consciousness.
Fate : Fate or Fatality? by Sharp (4/3/2001)
An undisclosed location (in a damp, wet, dim room).

Fading in and out of a sweaty coma, Sharp lay on the cold floor of the small, dark room. Time ceased to exist, her mind wandered, muddled with comatic hallucinations. Wayward meandering of memories enveloped Sharp's foggy mind...

The lady Taryn was waving a wand above her head...
Ventor held her lovingly to his chest as Corean recited a poem...
Nisstyre's voice echoed in her mind...
Seive was screaming orders at her as Akihiro and Tyler laughed...
Oaklore teased her affectionately as she cackled in delight...
Sylvaniana pinned an emblem on her cloak...
Eyes, red, glowing, firey...

Mumbling incoherently, Sharp began to wake from a delirious stupor. All the time she sensed his presence. Stirring slightly, she awoke to find him resting beside her, his cold, metallic fingers stroking her face gently. Opening her eyes, he withdrew his hand, startled. Instinctively he reached inside his cloak for his sword. Sharp smirked to herself as the pain gripped her. "Seive, I do not think you will kill me now." Seive smiled and nodded, red eyes glowing in the inky darkness. "You deserved to die today, I taught you not so well, I fear." His hand hovered over his sword hilt. Sharp drew herself up on her hands, creaking into a crouch, her face drawing close to Seive's. She ran her hand slowly down her cheek, assessing the damage, while staring into those flaming eyes firmly. "This day we are even. Your life nearly lost to my daggers and mine saved by your sword."

Seive rapidly reached forward and grabbed Sharp by the throat with one hand, the other now clenched the sword hilt. Peircing her soul, Seive moved closer. She could feel his chromatic breath, uneven, deep, cold in her face. She could see pain in his eyes, pain and passion, murderous passion... Sharp choked on her words as his grip eased into what felt like a strange caress. "Why? After all this time, after everything, why bring me here?" Weakened, wounded, her arm fell to her side and brushed the ground aimlessly. Immediately her fingers touched the familiar cold steel of one of her daggers...
Fate : Twisting Fate by Kirdan (4/3/2001)
As I sit in my room in this large Church I wonder where everyone has gone. I know Akihiro and Oaklore have set off to find their lost relatives, and Sylvaniana broke her jaw in a brawl and is under surgery.
About this time every day a young woman comes ranting through our hall demanding the blood of a Strifer, but today the rantings come late. After waiting for an hour, the rantings did not come at all.
As I say on my pirch resting I called out. "Sharpster, where the hell are you cutie? Do we not hunt today?"
Calling on my arcane powers I cast the spell of Scrye on Sharp, being a very skilled wizzard the spell is easy to use but only when the target is living. I could see sharp, but barely...the quick glimpse was very weak, blurry, and fading quickly.
I knew then Sharp's life was in danger and I had to come to her side. Gathering some equipment and a few spell components I cloaked myself very well and opened of gate to a room close to Sharp.
When I first arrived I felt a great power, I thought that maybe Sharp was ok and nothing was wrong since i've felt this power before. I took one more Scrye to sharp to see if my predictions were right.
Once again my vision was clouded and fading. This worried me very much because I knew now that Sharp was not alone and the powers keeping Sharp where she is were very strong, but very familiar.
As I thought for a moment who this person could be I remembered...Only a Retired Leader of the Nightmares could have such a power and that is when I knew the familiar powers were of our teacher, Seive!
Seive is a very strong and mysterious being, he taught us all to be what we are today and I knew if this was the person holding Sharp captive I had no chance in defeating him alone and saving my Leader.
I cloaked myself again just to make sure as I scanned the area for the two bodies, they were hear, and Seive was more powerful than ever. I knew that he was old and tired, but he still gives me Nightmares.
I made myself translucent as and slowly crept into the room which Seive held Sharp captive, I knew I could not let either Sharp or Seive know I was here or he might Kill Sharp and turn to me.
I thought back to when I was a young boy and my dad always told me that true power was knowing when and how to attack, so remembering that I levitated to a dark niche in the room and pirched quitly watching my Leader.
I pray that Sharp can make it till nightfall, then and only then I will be able to seep into Seive's dreams and learn the true meaning to his actions. In the Dream World, Nisstyre gives the Nightmares the powers to twist one's mind.
Till then, I shall sit and wait until the time is right and my Leader may live to fight another day.
