Here I have compiled a list of interesting sites here for the math enthusiast. Have Fun !!!!
This is Geometry Step by step from the Land of the Incas. This site has lots of interesting puzzles and ancient geometry concepts. My favorite is the tessellation problems with birds that you can do online. What I also like about this site is the quizzes that are offered where you can test you knowledge of Geometry.
Since most of what we learn in high school is Euclidan Geometry, I would like to point those of you more interested in exploring the subject to the site Euclid’s Elements by D.E. Joyce. In this interesting site, the author has translated the entire collection of Euclid’s 13 books. This site may be used a reference. Also we appreciate how advanced Geometry was even in 300 B.C.
For Calculus following site By Douglas Arnold at the University of Minnesota is very enlightening. It is called graphics for the calculus classroom Graphics for the Calculus Classroom and contains very interesting plots that explain the concepts of differential, integral in animated diagrams.
Trignometry is a field that makes extensive use of formulae. Not all formulae can be committed to memory. Here I list a site that stores the formulae for easy reference. The site is called Trignometry Formulae
The High school Hub by Schmidel and Wojcik. Contains interesting and challenging mathematics problems and simple mathematics concepts that are explained very graphically. |
