| The 67s |
| "Making the station looking a lot more modern" was not the purpose of the 67s. Making the sleepers a lot more reliable however is the true purpose. As 67023 and 67018 have both demonstrated, this is not always possible resulting the most unlikeliest of traction on the Inverness sleepers including 37421 and several 47s. Having been on the Aberdeen Sleepers since the Summer timetable 2001, the 67s moved over onto Inverness sleepers at the beginning of the Winter Timetable 2001. The Aberdeen did however recert back to 47 haulage for the duration of the Winter Timetable until owner English Welsh & Scottish Railways (EWS) could diagram enough of them to run both the Aberdeen and Inverness sleepers with 67 haulage. The 67s are not refined to sleeper traffic however, with the start of Securior express parcel services to Inverness and Aberdeen in September 2001, 67s have become a regular sight in both the Highland and Grampian capitals. As of the 10th June 2002, a 67 is booked to work the 1049 Millburn Yard - Mossend Euroterminal enterprise, the first booked 67 hauled freight train in the UK!
