| The outside philanthropy of Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity and the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation is Diabetes. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Alpha Gamma Delta was the first Women's fraternity to establish an international philanthropic project. The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation makes philanthropic grants to a variety of organizations and individuals in the field of diabetes: the American Diabetes Association, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, individuals involved in research and those in need of medical device or assistance. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| The money contributed to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation from our fund-raisers is used for all of the above purposes, and for other Foundation programs, such as the Leadership Conference and scholarships. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Also Alpha Gamma Delta holds a Jailhouse Rock, where the presidents of different organizations on campus are kidnapped and can get out of jail when their organization brings enough cans to fill the back of a pickup truck or donations. Hundreds of cans of food are donated o Open Door Ministries each year. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Alpha Gamma Delta supports the Alpha Gamma Foundation by participating in the Walk for Diabetes. A five mile walk starts and ends at the High Point Hospital. Food and fun are enjoyed by the sisters as well as the High Point community. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| When the weather permits, we have car washes at local restaurants. Money raised from donations also supports the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation. | ||||||||||||||||||||
