General Facts About Quidditch
- The game of Quidditch popular wizarding sport played on brooms.
- Quidditch is an international sport, and also is played in schools and in country leagues.
- The game is played on a large, oval field, at the end of which stand three, fifty foot high goal posts.
Quidditch Balls
- Quaffle (1): The quaffle is about the size of a basketball and is scarlet red. It is built with a Gripping Charm to help the players catch it. A special charm that reduces falling speed is also placed on the quaffle. If it was dropped without the charm, it would fall directly to the ground.
- Bludgers (2): The Bludgers are smaller than the Quaffle, but are very heavy and made of iron. They target players, attempting to make them fall off their brooms. Before a Quidditch match, the Bludgers have to be restrained because they would attack anyone in their range.
- The Golden Snitch (1): The Golden Snitch, considered to be the most important ball in Quidditch, gives the team in its possession a whopping 150 points. It is small, around the size of a golf ball, and has two wings. It rapidly circles the pitch and is extremely difficult to spot. The game of Quidditch only ends when the Golden Snitch is caught.
Players
A Quidditch team has seven total players. These players include:
Chasers (3):
It is the job of the three Chasers to score the teams points. The Chasers have to gain possession of the Quaffle and throw it through the one of the three goal posts. Each goal scored gives the team in possession 10 points.
Beaters (2):
Te two Beaters have the responsibility of protecting their team from the two Bludgers. The Beaters have a club, similar to a baseball bat, which they use to knock the Bludger off course, or into the path of the opponent's team.
Keeper (1):
The Keeper was try to defend the team's goal posts. The job is similar to that of a soccer goalie. The Keeper uses no more than his or her hands, and is required to perform difficult swerves and moves on his or her broom in order to keep the goals protected.
Seeker (1):
The Seeker's job is perhaps the most crucial job of all. The Seeker is required to catch the Golden Snitch. The Snitch earns the team 150 points and end the game. The team who catches the snitch however, does not always have to win. For example, if a team is down by two undred points, and that same team catches the snitch, the game is over, and they lose.

Ireland: The chasers are Troy, Mullet and Moran, the keeper is Ryan, the beaters are Connoly and Quigley, and the seeker is Aiden Lynch.
