Welcome to the 2.0 of HZLOGIN !

Installation as follows:

1. Place HZLOGIN anywhere you like, I suggest the Program Files->Artifact Entertainment-> directory, its nice and empty.
2. Make a shortcut to HZLOGIN on your desktop, make sure the working directory is where HZLOGIN is located.
3. Run HZlogin, It will show you a setup screen where you can enter up to 4 seperate account usernames, enter them now and press [DONE]
4. Your default HZ.ini has been created, now add characters to each account you have. Select the account in the top box, then type in the character name in the bottom box, insure that each character name is capatalized! press [ADD] when you have entered the name to add, lather/rinse/repeat for each character.

At this point HZlogin now has created for you all the files it will need for you.

File List:

HZLOGIN - The main executable
HZ.ini - Created on Second time you run HZlogin, contains user variables
HZlastused.hal - Contains the last session settings, normally your most used character
<username files> - Contains the list of characters associated with the account.
<username.def files> - Used for Express Login

If you are upgrading from 1.0 -

You MUST delete your HZ.ini file, but no others! When you run it for the first time It will prompt you for your account names, enter those and the old character files will be used.

SETTINGS Page -

No longer does the HZ.ini require direct editing. Press [SETTINGS] and you can change the timing delay and the retries. Before you set the timing delay higher, please try to set the retries higher. Each time a page is loaded, the program will wait the delay then attempt to find the element it needs in the page. If not found (because the page is not quite loaded yet) The program will then wait the delay and try again, it will try this up to the max number of retries. Setting the delay higher only makes the program wait longer between retries.

Also on the setings page is 3 checkboxes -

- Shut down IE after Launch - This will shut down IE when it has detected that horizons.exe is running. In the case of a long patch however the program will eventually abort allowing the patch to finish and make no attempt to close IE

- Discovery Mode - No guarantees on this one. Turn it on and login, then log out and back in. The second time you do get in you should be in a world with NO mobs, NO NPC's, NO resources! The world and land and buildings are there, just nothing else. Possibly you can explore places you cannot go normally. Unset it and login twice to restore to normal.

- Enable Express mode - Allows Express logins (see below)

EXPRESS MODE -

This is a way of launching the game without using IE at all. It seems that when the website was overloaded a while ago, AE posted the details on how to do this so folks could play and go around the webserver. Well, if they posted it, we can do it. Here's what you do: Login like normal, using the Login button on HZLOGIN. The next time you go to login to the game Express will be available. HZLOGIN gathers the information for you and saves the .def file, but to get it, you have to login using the IE type of LOGIN at least one time. TO Express login, press the [EXPRESS LOGIN] button instead of the [LOGIN] button.

NOTES about Express Login:

 - You must login at least once the normal way with HZLOGIN before it will be activated.
 - Express Login BYPASSES the webserver totally, thus the patcher will never be run. If you have problems logging in, try the normal login, chances are theres a patch waiting for you.
 - If you experience a database error with Express Login, do a normal one, chances are your public key changed and the normal login will update your .def file for you.
 - Just like the normal LOGIN, you STILL have to enter your password for express, as it is NOT saved in the DEF file for your own security reasons. (Tho you can put it in there, I suggest you do not)
