HPAIR '00 - head delegate HPAIR '99 - delegate Mabuhay from the Philippines! I am Pamela Sio, head delegate of this year's delegation from the University of Asia & the Pacific. It is indeed a privilege to be a part of this year's HPAIR conference in Beijing, China. Not only do I have the unique opportunity to hear from distinguished speakers and to meet and interact with students and young leaders from all over the world, I have the chance to do so in a place of such cultural and historical significance. In the midst of so much change in Asia and in the rest of the world, I find the HPAIR project a noteworthy endeavor because it allows young leaders to voice their own concerns and views as well as to hear and become aware of other valid perspectives. I do expect much from this year's conference, and hope that we can more firmly realize the aims of this project through the widening of the HPAIR Network. In the University of Asia & the Pacific, previous delegates to HPAIR have sought to imitate the HPAIR endeavor in the local context through similar activities.
