HPAIR '00 - Observer HPAIR '99 - Head delegate HPAIR '98 - Delegate Three years have quickly passed. Before I knew it, I was again packing my bags for another HPAIR conference! Beyond the luxury of travelling abroad and meeting new faces from around the globe is an experience that led me to the never-ending circus of immeasurable feats and challenging blows. I never knew I could work so hard and have gone this far if not for all the trials it took. Being a delegate required me to be industrious and innovative in my research while patience and determination aided me in writing my paper. A lot of courage is certainly needed to speak up in front of a number of people whom you just met! Being a Head Delegate entailed a lot of dedication, sacrifice and selfless struggle. During my term as the last of what the Philippine Delegation may have experienced, it was a very challenging yet fulfilling stage that I have encountered in my life. HPAIR Hong Kong brought me to the depths of international governance, knowledge-based organization building, and personal development. Preparing a delegation is not as easy as one may think. I have seen myself grow in the process of preparing others and at the same time, preparing myself for yet a different area of a person's life. HPAIR has indeed made me more of that person I was envisioning myself to be. It has prepared me to face the world with more strength and confidence in myself. Talk about being an HPAIR baby! 08/2000 |
