| After 1978's Bang-Shang Lalapalooza Show and Sabrina Super Witch finished their run, there was no new Archie shows until 1987. This time the premace of this particular show would be Archie and the gang as nine year old kids, but the personalities would be the same: Jughead still liked food, Betty still was the nice girl, Veronica was still the spoiled rich girl, Reggie was still the egocentic he's always been, and last but by no means least, Archie was still, well, Archie. That was pretty much The New Archies. This show also marked the beginning of the DiC Era shows. The New Archies was a popular Saturday Morning cartoon. So popular Archie Comics launched their own New Archies comic book series (and later digest magazines). But The New Archies was a ratings hit; the first since 1970's Archie's Funhouse. Talk about a comeback! TRIVIA: The New Archies also introduced a couple of new characters: Amani and Eugene. |
