Psalm 81
This Psalm is talking about God wanting the people of Isreal to turn from evil and start following Him.  But they insist on doing things their own way.  So God gave them over to their enemies - even though God wants to protect them.  It reminds me of a child who will not listen to their parents about a hot oven.  The child disregards the parents warning and touches the hot oven - the child gets burned.   The child has learned the lesson not to touch a hot stove.  God is doing the same thing here to the people of Isreal - teaching them a lesson by handing them over to their enemies.  Once they decide to follow God, then he will protect them again.
