Isaiah in this passage is telling us that we are not good enough to be in the presence of God. We are sinners and can never sit next to God. The only way we can be in the presence of our mighty God is by putting our faith and trust in Jesus Christ. That is the reason Jesus was sent to the earth as a man to die on the cross for all of our sins. God in His grace realized that this world was corrupted, so He sent His son Jesus to take the penalty of sin for us. He is our ticket to heaven and the pass which gives us the priviledge to be in His presence. Nothing we do will get us there - only our faith in Jesus Christ will get us to Heaven. That is what this passage is informing us about.
