Research
Interests
This section
briefly outlines my various research interests.
Robotics
Robotic
Limbs
After
my work in prosthetic robotic devices, I have developed a keen desire
to develop more and more sophisticated robotic limbs resembling in structure
and use to the human limbs. They may not be for use in prosthesis, but
can be used to extend capabilities of normal humans.
Humanoid
Robots
This can be
divided into two sections. One could be a generic design of a humanoid
robot modelling the required interfaces between sensors, limbs and the
controllers. I would like to design a networked system, not unlike the
human neural system, which can transfer data, power, etc. to other components
of the humanoid. Once a model has been designed, the rest is electronics
and mechanics. The second component of the humanoid robot is the intelligence,
which also is a field I would like to work on. Basic human intelligence
which shall enable robots to learn.
Mobile Robotics
& Multiple Robot Systems
In
this field, I am interested in path finding and path planning for mobile
robots, task distribution and localization for Multiple Robot Systems.
I would like to work on designing Multiple Robot Systems for different
applications, with the associated restrictions, like alien terrain mapping
and resource collection, or USAR (Urban Search & Rescue).
